Gale is Katniss's best friend. He goes hunting with her almost every morning, and he is the only one that Katniss trusts in District 12. He has dark hair, and grey eyes, and is very handsome, but apparently Katniss only sees him as a friend. He has a lot of siblings, so that is why Katniss helps him hunt squirrels, rabbits, birds and deers.
He also has to be in the reaping, but is not chosen (Peeta is). He wishes Katniss good luck, hugs her, and promises that he will take care of Prim and Katniss's mother. He is also sure that Katniss will win the Hunger Games, because she knows hunting and how to survive in the woods.
